G3c - What is front sight tool type and size?

New to forum. Hope this is correct place to post this question.

Can anyone tell me what type of tool (hex, torx, other) and it's size, is used to remove/replace front sight screw for the new G3c?

My old eyes can't get figure it out and a request for that information I sent to Taurus customer service a week ago continues to be unanswered.

    Thanks for any help.

Welcome from South Texas. Sorry I can't answer you question as I do not have a G 3.

From what I've read, the sights on the new G3c are Glock pattern sights. The Glock front sight uses a thin wall 3/16" hex.

I don't have one yet but I am surprised. The G2 front sight I swapped out was a slotted screw. Lakeline LLC sells the sights for the G2 and G3, Alphonse is very knowledgeable and responsive. You can find his ad on the forum.

Freedom has cost the blood of millions in obscure places and in historic sites ranging from Gettysburg to the Gulag Archipelago . . .That something that cost so much in human lives should be surrendered piecemeal in exchange for visions and rhetoric seems grotesque. Freedom is not simply the right of intellectuals to circulate their merchandise. It is, above all, the right of ordinary people to find elbow room for themselves and a refuge from the rampaging presumptions of their ‘betters’.” Thomas Sowell

I'm sitting here trying to remember. Getting old I guess. I think it is 1.5 mm hex, maybe 2 mm. I can check in the morning. It is metric.

One of the issues is a glock sight tool and front sight screw don't have room with the machining on the G3C slide. So, even though we're selling Truglo sights for the G3C, we add an additional front sight screw to the kit. And, we have a Phillips on it for several reasons. It is easier to get in and start, and people are a little less likely to over tighten it and they can see what it is. And, if they do strip the head, it is easy to drill off, pull the sight out and turn out with pliers and replace.

Thank you Alfonse. At your suggestion I tried a 2mm hex and it WORKS. Thx, you really helped me out, as my eyes have a tough time focusing at that distance as I get older.

Also, you are ALWAYS helpful on this forum. I've read many threads over the past several days since I joined and found that you provide great information and go out of your way to help - even when it might result in someone making a purchase from another vendor other than Lakeline. I'm really impressed with your professionalism and willingness to help.

I have purchased several products from Lakeline for my PT-111 G2, G2c, and TH9. You folks make very high quality stuff and it's priced very competitively.

But, more than anything, I appreciate you going out of your way to help me (and others).

Thank you again for your help.
