Are they getting ready to drop the G2 series? that doesn't make a lot of sense.

I just got that email this morning... Looks to me like they are moving to the next generation. The improvements look nice, especially the finish.

Tenifer finish, metal sights (hinted as Glock sized) revised trigger system and teflon coated mag and slide releases, sounds like a worthy new generation of G The series.

I view it as an upgrade to the G2 line. More in line with other manuf keeping the model the same with diff sizes. EX: APX full, APX centurian, APX carry, APX compact etc..

Just saw an announcement from Taurus, so I guess it's real.

Drop the G2 series? Why not? The G2C replaced the PT111G2. The changes are all incremental, and all make sense (to me). This should be a better gun. The sight change especially, "Oh, hallelujah!". (I really don't care for the adjustable rear sight.)

Looks pretty nice, has well thought out improvements from the G2 series. I'm wondering if it takes the same magazines. Will this put the G2's under the five year warranty plan now that the G2 will be discontinued, or did that warranty plan go away?

I have found the best avenue to contact them via the on-line chat... calling them is an exercise in futility.
I always use the chat feature. Hopefully with the move to GA being completed for some time now and the recall dust pretty much settled, they can get the response time on repairs down.
