    My G2C Project, Part 3

For continuity you can review parts 1 and 2 here:

IMO, the Vortex Venom red dot optic is more suited to a long-slide handgun or MSR. For me it was not suited for a carry gun because of difficulty in target acquisition.

So I switched to a Viridian E-Series red laser. Rural King had them on sale for less than $90.00 so I thought I would give it a try. The instruction manual said it had been aligned before shipping and to use the pistol's sights on a target to adjust the laser if required. What the instructions with the laser DO NOT tell you is which way to turn the alignment screws to move the dot. I did find an older user guide on their web site that did have this information. Unfortunately, it was wrong. It took me a little while to realize that I was moving the dot further and further off. But once I figured that out, I quickly had it centered. And this is the answer for me. Bright dot quickly on target without having to bring the gun up to eye level, just focus on keeping the dot on the target and trigger control. So now I'm a happy guy. And still not a squeak from the gun. The target was shot at 10 yards shooting Fiochi 115 gr ball.

One of my goals in life is to shoot more people on purpose than I do by accident. So far, so good.

I had that brand on my 938, Is that the one that has the feature where magnets turn it on when you draw from the holster? I had the OWB holster Viridian packaged with the laser and a pocket holster that had a magnet in it.

I only have one laser RDS and it's mounted on my 300 BLK pistol. I'm not a big fan of them, probably because I don't use it much relying on the holographic reflex sight instead. I'll have to work with it some more. If I had my own backyard range I'd probably invest in a lead sled to facilitate sight alignment, but having one to haul to the range is pretty much a non-starter.

I've been thinking about a laser/light combo to mount on my pt140 for nightstand duty. I dont carry it since I got my Springfield XDE 45, but still like...and would like to keep the 140 employed.
