    Just bought a G2S.

I just purchased a G2S new from my local fun shop today for $260 OTD. I have a holster on the way.

Is there any advice you knowledgable Taurus people have for me on the G2S?

It fits my criteria. Single stack, good feeling grip, swappable mag release.

I just wish they made a no safety model like S&W does with the Shield.

Get to pick it up Saturday morning. And then dry fire about 1 million times.

Great purchase first off a little high but not ridiculous.
The gun is a great piece of machinery for the price. I would first get used to the feel then actually get used to the sights or swap them for New night sights (my preference). Purchase 2 more magazines and 200-250 rounds of range ammo, hit the range and get well acquainted.

Yep I will definitely be getting it out to shoot as soon as I can to make sure it is reliable.

I thought the price was a little high too but I buy all my guns from the same place and it is a small town dealer.

Definitely am looking at getting a few more mags too. What do they usually go for price wise?

Look for some upgrades/mods from Lakeline LLC (also a member here). Great upgrades at modest prices and excellent customer service if needed.

Practice with the safety! Shoot it until you are comfortable with it.
    Have fun and be SAFE!
    Shut up and reload!

Good gun. I have the G2S with the chocolate brown frame and black slide. I have been happy with it since I was able to adjust the rear sight correctly (it was waaaaaay off from the factory). It has been 100% reliable. I am sure the sales numbers aren't anywhere near the G2C, but I just like the way this slightly slimmer pistol fits my hand. I hope they keep making it for a very long time.

I will definitely look into their stuff. I will probably shoot the gun as it is until I get 2 or 300 rounds through it.

Safety on these is way better(easier to manipulate if it's on by accident) than the M&P Smiths. I only use the safety on my G2 when it's in my pocket holster. IWB/OWB G2 and G3 are safety off. Just be aware these particular guns the safety locks the entire gun up, slide and all. If you are trying to press check with the safety on and the gun isn't letting you, don't freak out.

Congrats on the new pistol! Buying on-line is cheaper, but then once shipping, cc fees, and the FFL on the receiving end are factored in the difference is not so great. Plus you get to keep your gun store in business!

It depends, for me the G3 is just showing up in stores some places here for more than what I paid for it. There was a few times I shipped stuff then black friday ads made the gun locally cheaper by the time the seller shipped it. Luckily in that case it was a color not locally available and threaded barrel. Some places is $25 FFL and some are up to $60 if the gun is in stock there or not. Most my buys online are guns that aren't built anymore and can't be found locally w/o calling every store in the 100 mile radius that sells used guns.
