So to the OP - let us know what she picks out. Guns Galore might be a good place to take her to try guns for fit & feel. I had good experiences there back when I lived in MI.

I agree, the Ruger SR9c has a very nice trigger.

I got to fire a single stack polymer Ruger 9 a while ago. I believe it was an LC9. I did not like the trigger. Kind of the way I don't like hot sauce in my contact lens case.

I'd consider a Bersa 380, a Makarov or something from that Russian 9 blowback family.

The LC9 has a much harder trigger than the striker-fired LC9s. The LC9s also has a shorter reset than the LC9. Night and day different in the triggers.

lc9s (lc9s pro if you want no safety) has a great trigger. i tried that, the shield, and the cm9 and the lc9s had the best trigger so I ordered one.

If you are ever put into a position where you may have to defensively draw, trust me: how the trigger feels is going to be the last thing on anyone's mind.

With that said... yep. She needs to handle various pistols and find a nice medium that suits her: focus first on what feels best to her. What fits her hand, what balances best, what gun aligns naturally for her when she flips it up to the target, etc. Having a nice trigger is, well, nice, but probably the least most important thing so long as you can shoot it well. Triggers grow on you over time too.

Btw, has she shot FNH or Beretta PX4 Storm Compact models? Those have beautiful triggers to me.

My Beretta Px4 Storm Subcompact is a very sweet shooter, even if it is ugly! Lots of bullets, too!

I'd like to try shooting that. We are bandying about getting a Wisconsin range trip together... hmmmm

Not far, I'm North of Elgin...but I hate GAT guns. Usually shoot rifle at On Target in Crystal Lake where rifle and pistol can be fired on the same range. McMiller up by Elkhorn, WI is a nice outdoor range. They have a 300 yard range. McMiller Sports Center The Official Website ? Public Shooting Range

Sycamore Sportsman Club has open shooting on Sundays IIRC. I've not been out there yet.
