    New from South Central Kansas

Hi everyone... just joining. I went to the opening of the new Academy in Wichita this afternoon and bought a 738 TCP... I have other compact pistols, but the smallest was a Beretta Nano. This is my first 380 and first Taurus. I've thoroughly cleaned it and lubed it, but I haven't had the chance to fire it yet. Makes my Nano look big and next to the Ruger Security Six - well it just kinda disappears . I'm a little nervous about such a small firearm and caliber, but I think there will be times its concealability will really be handy.

I'll be reading looking for tips, suggestions and tricks for the new little pistol. I'm a lefty, so I already found the mag release switch thread - just not sure I'm ready to attempt that yet. Also considering Traction Grips and will look for other's opinions on them.

OK, enough blabbing... I look forward to learning more about the 738 and Taurus.

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

The 2nd amendment is not about hunting or shooting sports, it is about the citizens of this country having the means to protect themselves and the states from the tyranny, oppression, and misery of an over powering government. Modern rifles are a means for the citizens to stand up to an over powering government.

Their everyday price for the TCP matched the Thanksgiving Holiday "sale" price I got from Gander earlier in the day. They are more of a "box" store and not as "outdoorsy" as Gander or Cabelas. Reminds me more of Dick's, except with a larger firearm and hunting section. It took a long time to get checked out with the pistol, but may have been due to the first day and heavy traffic???
