Welcome from KS... I hope you and your wife don't have to wait too long. I started out with shotguns too, but that was MANY years ago. I don't know if you or your wife have had any gun safety training, but recommend you consider it. It doesn't have to be some extravagant tactical-cool combat training - just something to that helps build safe gun handling practices. Be safe and have fun! :-)

Welcome from Northern Illinois! I just went through the waiting game on my newly acquired Kimber Micro 9. I've gone crazy buying magazines, holsters, etc...now have it and need to get out and put some rounds downrange.

I quote the member above because for new handgun owners it's even more imperative that both you and your wife review safe gun handling. Col. Cooper's rules can and will prevent ALL bad things from happening that can and do happen with firearms. That's a start that can be done by reviewing them on line.

A gun safety course can help with familiarity with the pistols and help improve shooting skills.

We appreciate all firearms here on this forum and the G2/G3 line from Taurus is proving itself to be a reliable, accurate and value oriented source of self defense. Let us know how your first range trip goes!

“Historically, freedom is a rare and fragile thing . . . Freedom has cost the blood of millions in obscure places and in historic sites ranging from Gettysburg to the Gulag Archipelago . . .That something that cost so much in human lives should be surrendered piecemeal in exchange for visions and rhetoric seems grotesque. Freedom is not simply the right of intellectuals to circulate their merchandise. It is, above all, the right of ordinary people to find elbow room for themselves and a refuge from the rampaging presumptions of their ‘betters’.” Thomas Sowell
