Welcome aboard the board. There is a great family of members here. Don't be shy to join right in. I'm sure you will notice as you browse around, we're not all about Taurus in general. Nor all about guns either.

I'm also in the DFW area, just north of Waxahachie, west of Red Oak, and east of Midlothian.

Iíve noticed everyone is pretty great so far. We went Taurus as it wasnít super expensive letting us get started. And we both really love shooting them.

Iím working on getting her to carry full time once we get our LTC in. I know I will be.

Iím looking to build my collection. Next up we want to get a pair of .22ís for the range mainly. Whole lot cheaper than 9mm ammo lol

    Welcome aboard, from Las Vegas!
Good job getting your wife a permit.
It took me five years to convince my wife to get hers, but she finally got it even though she hardly ever carries.

The two points that convinced her:
    1. If you ever change your mind and want to carry, I don't want you to have to wait five months to take a class and process your application.
    2. If we are in a car accident, and I get injured and need to go to the hospital, I need you to be able to legally take possession of my firearm.

Surprisingly, the gun she liked and qualified with is my Taurus 85UL snub-nose 38 special.
She likes that it is simple, and doesn't have a slide that she can't pull back.

Those are very good points. Mine finally came around even there was a very violent home invasion in her parents neighborhood. Very upperclass area. Plus a few in our own town. She used to be very anti gun. But that coupled with going to a lease with friends and shooting theirs made a huge change. I plan to carry all the time and she is most often with me. But I do want her carrying if Iím not with her.
