My father and I have many Taurus pistols, but I hate the grip and sights on our Taurus 44 magnum with a serial number of NC914862.

It is not marked as a Tracker, instead it's only marked as "44 MAGNUM" on the barrel.

I've ordered Hogue grips for S&W square butt N and L frames and nether fit.

I STRONGLY prefer Hogue grips, but I'm at a complete loss for a model # grip that will fit or if there's another option.

The other thing is I want a red fiber front sight and two green dots on the rear.

Can anyone tell me if S&W sights will fit this one?

Any advice would REALLY be appreciated.

    Welcome aboard.
You might want to take that question to the Taurus Revolver board as you'll get more and better responses there.

As you found out, Hogue's S&W grips don't fit Taurus.

    Hello and welcome

A simple google of "Hogue grips" lead me to Hogue's homepage and I clicked on the Taurus section which informed me that your revolver takes medium/large frame square butt Taurus grips. Clicking on that box lead me to what you seek:

It took less that a minute to find what you need.

Yep. As above, large frame square butt. Plentiful and easy to find.
    Sweet revolver!

I'm no expert, so take it for what it's worth.

The TaurusUSA web site says this about your gun:
    SERIAL NO. NC914862
    MODEL 2-440049
    DESCRIPTION M44 4in SS .44 MAGNUM CP
Maybe that model number will help you find the appropriate grips.

Good luck. Whatever you do find, please post the results back here so the next guy with the same question has the benefit of your research.

The Hogue grips leave the steel of the frame exposed in the rear. In searching for a set of grips which provided a wider web to minimize felt recoil I bought a set from Thailand, similar to these. The pin that goes through the frame should be there to stabilize and position the grips. The Hogue uses a "stirrup" that fits on the bottom of the frame to receive the mounting screw.

“Historically, freedom is a rare and fragile thing . . . Freedom has cost the blood of millions in obscure places and in historic sites ranging from Gettysburg to the Gulag Archipelago . . .That something that cost so much in human lives should be surrendered piecemeal in exchange for visions and rhetoric seems grotesque. Freedom is not simply the right of intellectuals to circulate their merchandise. It is, above all, the right of ordinary people to find elbow room for themselves and a refuge from the rampaging presumptions of their ‘betters’.” Thomas Sowell
