    New Taurus - Taurus Revisited

Last Taurus I owned was a PT 24/7 which I purchased new in 2005 and sold few years back. Been looking to add a 22LR just for plinking around the farm and had been looking at the Ruger SR, and S&W M&P Compact, as well as maybe going back to a Ruger 22/45, and preordering a Glock 44. But after several months of reading TX22 reviews and watching videos I decided to give Taurus another try.

Picked up the TX22 today. Wow! What a blast to shoot and even though had already handled the gun multiple times at big box stores, really love the ergonomics. I put 200 rounds through it this afternoon - using old Federal bulk ammo laying around the house. I only had one failure to feed. The second round out of the box. Other than that it ran flawlessly.

Been wanting to add a 1911 to my collection and now seriously considering a Taurus (again lots of good reviews). Apparently they’ve stepped up their game since 2005.

Welcome aboard. I love my TX22 - even took out a bobcat that was decimating our free range chickens with it.

Welcome from Northern Illinois! I have the SR22 and agree that blasting those 22LR at < .04/round is a ton of fun. I have the PT 1911 SS in 45 ACP with over 7,000 rounds and really love that gun also. Hoping to get that out tomorrow for some exercise.

“Historically, freedom is a rare and fragile thing . . . Freedom has cost the blood of millions in obscure places and in historic sites ranging from Gettysburg to the Gulag Archipelago . . .That something that cost so much in human lives should be surrendered piecemeal in exchange for visions and rhetoric seems grotesque. Freedom is not simply the right of intellectuals to circulate their merchandise. It is, above all, the right of ordinary people to find elbow room for themselves and a refuge from the rampaging presumptions of their ‘betters’.” Thomas Sowell
