When people lose their way and begin to vote for their own yokes and chains and suddenly we’re all wearing them, when Government turns tyrannical and the light of liberty is being extinguished.... our 2nd amendment is our ONLY hope.
The next handgun I buy will be the next to last handgun I ever buy!

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.
The 2nd amendment is not about hunting or shooting sports, it is about the citizens of this country having the means to protect themselves and the states from the tyranny, oppression, and misery of an over powering government. Modern rifles are a means for the citizens to stand up to an over powering government.

Welcome aboard, from Las Vegas!
I'm afraid you're going to have to put up with some scorns and scoffs from some of your "Gun Snob" friends. Too many people out there think that if a gun isn't a Sig, Colt, S&W, or at least a Glock, that it's not worth having. You'll see a lot of those snobs at Front Sight too. You may be able to change some of their minds with your G2C.
You're going to like that G2C. I have a G2C, and a G2 (predecessor to the G2C). Unfortunately, a very small number of lemons slip thru Taurus manufacturing; a Quality Control problem at Taurus. Hopefully, yours is not one of them.
I had some initial problems with my G2C. The first time I took it to the range, on several shots it failed to "Return to Battery". That is, when the slide loaded the next round, it would stop about 1/4 inch short of full forward. I could push the slide forward with the palm of my left hand, but that's not a solution. So, I took it home, cleaned it, and polished the outside of the barrel with some rubbing compound. That smoothed it enough so that I didn't have that problem again. Another thing you can do if you have that problem is to buy a stainless-steel recoil spring from Lakeline.com (about $35). I did that too, just to be safe. Now I have a very dependable weapon that I carry most of the time.

Welcome from South Texas.
Thanks for the comments. My only connection to Front Sight is that the current CEO there is a longtime friend and business associate via his prior business. My business has taken me to Las Vegas many times and so he invites me out there to shoot.
Up until I retired last October, for eight years I was Executive Director of a national trade association and put on a couple of conferences per year. My final Spring conference was in Las Vegas, at the Westin. I saw you're from Long Beach and I put on conferences there in 2015 and 2017, too!
Anyway, I'll take my new G2c out shooting for the first time next week. I'm eager to get the feel of the gun. I'll let you know if I have any of the problems you've described.
