    new guy from wisconsin

I'm a lifelong wisconsin native and new to handguns. I bought a model 608 revolver in November of 08, and a 24/7 9mm a few weeks later. They are the first handguns I've ever owned. I'm in my early thirties and I thought it was about time I learned a thing or two about handguns. I decided on taurus for a revolver because the price was much better than ruger and smith and wesson and the reviews seemed pretty good. I almost bought the S & W 686 for $629 instead of the taurus for $450, but my girlfriends dad whose an ex-cop said that a few of his cop buddies had them and they were real happy with them so I stuck with the Taurus. 200 rounds down the barrel , accurate, I'm happy. Can't wait to try my 24/7 out this thanksgiving. I'm glad I found this forum, I think it will come in handy.

Welcome to the Taurus forum. Glad to have you here.

As can be seen in my signature there are a lot of Taurus revolvers in the collection. 3 are the older 20+years variety and still going strong.

Word of mouth is strong evidence of a good product if it performs well. So is the case here.

As for the 24/7 there are compilations of 24/7 threads and ammo info if you so desire. Just PM me if you want them.

If you pick and gun model from any maker we rejoice with you in that pick. Just the way things go here.

Hope the 608 crowd speaks up as I am sure they will. Not a great amount of them here, but those there are have had sterling service from them.

Welcome from Jacksonville, FL. I'm a life long cheesehead. Grew up near Madison. I have a 608 also. Great gun. This is an excellent forum, hope to see you around often!
