Lubbock, West Texas Get together-To Be Rescheduled

Let's plan on a get together for Saturday April 20th about 11:am so we can drive out to where ever we shoot. I have a place down in a draw where we could go shoot over close to Littlefield, north of Whitharrel...about 35 miles from south Lubbock. One member suggested his place just a couple of miles from Lubbock.

Let's see how much interest we have. I will spring for enough brisket for up to ten people (5 pounds) if someone will bring potato salad, pinto beans cole slaw and drinks. I think I have enough paper plates, cups and plastic knives and forks. I have a couple of tables, everyone could bring a folding chair, possibly tables. I have a portable target holder, and anyone else who does would be welcome to bring any portable targets or target holder they have.

By Sunday, we should have a good enough long range forecast to see if this would be doable or not.

    Anyone interested, please speak up!

One + for me, I could probably bring some cokes and potato salad (if the wife will make it?) and I can bake some sweet dinner rolls too. It's been a coons-age since I was last in Lubbock and will probably need directions or something since I'm old and mean.

Thanks for the invitation but I'm not much of a meeter/greeter. Even small crowds get me nervous.

    Been that way since Vietnam.

But you are very kind for offering to do this.

Jake, I'm pretty sure I'm in and will be glad to contribute to the eats, just let me know whats lacking. My only concern is that I have just moved my parents down here to an assisted living facality and they are having a hard time adjusting after being out on the farm for over fifty years. But it sounds like a great time (and I really could use a little recreation).

Like we talked about in the other thread, we can use my place. Handguns only, we're good to 25yds. One shooter at a time only. Fixed target backer big enough for B-27 target.

I'm only a few miles from town..about even with airport but on university.

Yeah, take photos; 800 miles round trip is a tad too much for me!
