Here is a crossbow I almost got but at the time they were having problems with service. They brought their service to par. Will be my next crossbow.they run about $1300 plus accessories.

I can't get the video to embed. It's called a Swiss Twinbow II.

Getting a good crossbow has been on my to do list for a long time. I have bad Rheumatoid Arthritis in my hands and shooting is becoming more and more painful. I learned as a child to shoot archery as we had a neighbor that competed nationally that got us kids in the neighborhood into it. Back then a good re-curve was all you needed and I took my first deer with a 35lb re-curve at a tent hunting camp with my father and Dale The guy who took his time to teach most of the neighborhood kids something cool. I was around 10 at the time.

In a SHTF scenario the bow or crossbow would be the ultimate "put meat on the table" implement.

I live out in the country and what many "townies" don't appreciate is how living out in the middle of nowhere amplifies everything. If you are trying to live below the radar, a single light can be seen for miles out here, even a super quiet generator can be heard from quite a distance away, a single gun shot can be heard for miles. I can easily hear one of my neighbors shoot his pistol 3 times a week from over 2 miles away. No, if you want to live undetected by casual passers-by, a bow or crossbow would have definite advantages.

I'd want the kind of crossbow used by Van Helsing.

Buy older compounds and arrows off of Ebay. I've picked up 4 of them and about 4 dozen arrows for under 400 bucks about 5 years ago. 2 of the bows are the same make, model and year as what I used to win countless championships. My daughter prefers bow and arrows for a SHTF scenario over firearms.

I just gave my son a new compound bow for Christmas. Maybe I should stock up on arrows and act like I'm doing HIM a favor!! LOL!
