    World's most valuable firearm

I saw a neat TV show today about million dollar guns.

According to that show, the most valuable firearm in the world is a Colt Third Model Dragoon that Sam Colt presented to the Sultan Turkey.

It's in a museum now, but the last private owner turned down $5 million.

I need to show this to my wife to re-enforce why I collect firearms, and why any firearm under $1,000 is a bargain!

I always thought the most valuable gun is the one that goes 'bang' when pulling the trigger during the time it is needed the most? I wouldn't mind collecting a few to display and admire, but I will hold a $400 gun, or less, priceless if it saves my or my family's life

I have always loved the presentation firearms from that time period, Colt, Winchesters... They are beautiful pieces, thats what I call art!

That gun is beautiful, all right. But it's only worth $5-6 million.
The 24/7 that's all scuffed up from riding in my holster - that one is priceless.

With the price of gold today the price is probably considerably higher now!

Pretty to look at nice to hold, but I will take a reliable working gun any day! The truth be told I would love to have my old "65" Chrysler 300 convertible in showroom condition instead of this gun sitting in a gun safe and not being able to shoot it!
