Very impressive. Just remember that any modern navy only has two types of vessals. Submarines and targets.

*grin* Just remember our carriers are always accompanied by several subs of our own. And we have a lot of practice sneaking up on other subs.

    Cool vid.

Thanks, enjoyed the video. I was on a small sub-chaser.....every now and then, we would refuel with the Nimtz or Kennedy.... Made us look like a little toy in a bathtub.

My boat only had a little over 200+ crew.....cant imagine being on a boat with thousands!

Yeah, and the flight deck is only the portion everyone thinks of. The hanger, and engine maint area's service the AC, the rest of the ship is to service the people doing those jobs, plus getting the supplies they need to operate from supply ships that come along side while moving and transfer them by high line to the carrier.

In the early 60's I was stationed on the U.S.S. Forrestal CVA-59. Life aboard a carrier is quiet an experence, and one that I was very lucky to have.

We used to have roughly the same saying in the aircraft world: If you're not a fighter, you're a target. In reality, everyone is a target. Just ask the U-boat crews during WWII what it felt like to 'not be a target.' lol

Joe R: You are correct. Many do not realize that the "pig boats", i.e. diesal subs, were primarily (surface) torpedo boats that could submerge to hide or get into position for an attack. Not at all like the tactics and capabilities of a modern sub.
