    Newbies. Take note.

For those of you that have been sitting on the sidelines reading, but do not want to ask a question.
Don't worry. Everybody that I have "met" on here is more than willing to answer a question to the best of their ability. Everyone seems to realize that they were newbies once too.
    So don't be afraid.
    Come on in.

Are there any "stupid" questions? I have a couple, but don't want to look like an ass

Like they said, we all start out as newbies somewhere. I have been a motorcycle mechanic for 63 of my 65 years (family owns a motorcycle shop) and I don`t have any problems asking questions or giving out answers to anybody just as long as they don`t get cocky and claim to know everything about anything. I have delt with people like that and I have no use for them. No one knows it all --I know for sure I don`t but we allways can learn something new from someone. Ask away

    Re: Newbies. Take note.

There are some questions I've probably answered a dozen times or more. It doesn't bother me since, like it was said above, we all started somewhere.

Helping new shooters is one of the reason's we're here. Sometimes I think back to when I was starting (not THAT many years back but pre-internet) and I had to figure out lots of stuff either by myself or by reading magazine articles. The internet has helped quite a bit with all of that. Helping out here is a way to "give back" to other shooters.

The only dumb question is the one you don't ask!

    Re: Newbies. Take note.

I heard this somewhere, but can't remember where, "There is no such thing as a stupid question, just the stupid person asking it." Not to say that there are stupid people on here, but since the subject of stupid questions came up, thought I'd share this little bit of insight. I've used this in my classroom as the guys I have for students ask some very inappropriate questions at the most inappropriate times.
