Went back to the mechanic today and they pinpointed the leak: leaking through a weep hole in the proportioning valve that attaches to the master cylinder. The brake line attaches to the proportioning valve. He said order the part and bring it to him and he'll put it in for free. Will do!

Hope that takes care of it. Leaking brakes lines/connections are no joke!

When I was 17, I rolled a 10-ton dump truck because a brake line blew......not one of my better days.

Are you sure it's not that back piston seal? Sometimes the seal gets damaged by an over-exuberant bench bleeding session.

Joe...I know what you mean but I could actually see the slight leak on proportioning valve.

Well, I do have a 2013 Silverado. The only brakes that failed me were on a '64 Chevy heavy half, though. The line blew out and i instantly reached for the hand brake. Stuff like that keeps ya sharp!

Finally Fixed! Took the new proportioning valve over to the mechanic this morning. He installed it while I hung around. I took a ride out to the shooting range after lunch. When I came back and popped the hood everything was dry! Thank the Lord!
