Thumbs up Tesla building in Austin, Texas

Tesla has purchased 2100 acres outside of Austin and will be building a "Gigafactory" dedicated to building their electric pickup truck. Construction to be started within two months.

I guess Tesla never heard those folks who swore there would never be a viable electric truck....

Are we the only country dumb enough to start a second civil war because we are offended by the first one?

“Historically, freedom is a rare and fragile thing . . . Freedom has cost the blood of millions in obscure places and in historic sites ranging from Gettysburg to the Gulag Archipelago . . .That something that cost so much in human lives should be surrendered piecemeal in exchange for visions and rhetoric seems grotesque. Freedom is not simply the right of intellectuals to circulate their merchandise. It is, above all, the right of ordinary people to find elbow room for themselves and a refuge from the rampaging presumptions of their ‘betters’.” Thomas Sowell

I've seen that truck...no thanks! Ugly as hell and it isn't any more eco friendly contrary to what many say. It doesnt charge itself and without nuclear power your using a fossil fuel to charge it. What about when the batteries need replacement...
What happens to the old ones?
More electric vehicles means more demand on the power grid...

Texas has been courting numerous businesses from states with strong opposing views of life and politics that have been the staple historic believes and way of life in Texas.

I can't help but think that at some point our Republican based, Texas raised politicians must place their elbows down and rest their head in their hands and say to themselves..."We sure didn't think this through very well".

Yet, they keep courting more and more business, offering humongous tax incentives to attract greater numbers of people who are unhappy with where they currently live. They come to Texas so things can be different, only to do their absolute best to change Texas to the life in which they came.

People need to understand that Texas is not only a state, it is a state of mind. Matter of fact, it is not only as state of mind, it is a state of heart. There are far too many people who live in Texas that are not Texan anymore.

And after a while they’ll wonder how Texas got just as screwed up as California.

I just can’t visualize any Texas ranchers or farmers in an electric pickup truck. Or any other states ranchers and farmers. Maybe they’ll be for export.

They run from leftism and then they vote for the very same thing they're running from in the first pace.

And Tesla has never turned a profit, they are supported by Government subsidies, a total failure as a company.
