Well the kids today are hitting the low mark there as well.
My sister was a school teacher until four years ago. She quit because of indoctrination and they told her she could not hand out any failing grades. They had to pass.

IQ is really a poor determinator of knowledge. All IQ does is indicates the ability to learn new material. If you either don't apply yourself or aren't given the opportunity to push the limits of what you know, that ability to learn atrophies. I've had my IQ tested twice and apparently it says I'm like soopershmert. I am also a natural test taker. that means I can walk into pretty much any exam and score at least 50-55% without even knowing the subject matter. That said, after college I really cut back on my educational studies and started retaining all sorts of trivial knowledge. When I talk with school kids or early 20 somethings, I can tell that they all lack that spark or even the ability to question. It's like looking at lions in the zoo. Their eyes are glazed over with this unsettling look of resignment. This is the form of idiot we are producing in massive numbers.

I don't think it has anything to do with IQ, it's really all about the cartoons. When they cancelled the Saturday morning cartoons, everything went to crap.

liberal socialists having been taking over the education system for decades! They quit teaching actual American history and stopped teaching civics! The schools have become indoctrination centers for the young starting from K through college! The liberals are playing the long game while conservatives try and make a living!

My dad though my generation was a bunch of idiots, his dad thought the same about dad's generation. I often think our kids and their peers are dumb as a bag of hammers, and now they're having offspring. I think if you'll go all the way back you'll find Adam & Eve wondering how their idiot kids will ever survive.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

We probably need to raise the voting age to 30.
“Historically, freedom is a rare and fragile thing . . . Freedom has cost the blood of millions in obscure places and in historic sites ranging from Gettysburg to the Gulag Archipelago . . .That something that cost so much in human lives should be surrendered piecemeal in exchange for visions and rhetoric seems grotesque. Freedom is not simply the right of intellectuals to circulate their merchandise. It is, above all, the right of ordinary people to find elbow room for themselves and a refuge from the rampaging presumptions of their ‘betters’.” Thomas Sowell
