Over 50 years. It's scent is something I associate with good times with my dad. He's been gone 26 years but a lot of things bring fond memories, the smell of #9 is one of them.

Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars.

I began using it on my Red Ryder Daisy B-B gun in 1946. There is always some of it around here, somewhere although I have become rather happy with Butch's Bore Shine.

I had been dating Mrs Flash ( 1966, before she became Mrs Flash, really) and her father suggested she leave the Chanel off for one date and use Hoppes and wouldn't ya know it? That was the night I proposed. This summer it will be 54 years since she uncapped that bottle.

(Maybe they should rename it to "Hoppe's Love Potion #9" )

You must be careful what you pretend to be, because in the end, you are what you pretend to be.

All governments suffer a recurring problem: Power attracts pathological personalities. It is not that power corrupts but that it is magnetic to the corruptible. Such people have a tendency to become drunk on violence, a condition to which they are quickly addicted. . . . . . . . . . . . .. — Frank Herbert, Chapterhouse: Dune
