    Traveling prayers sought

We're leaving Albuquerque in a half hour, moving my son's household goods to his new home in Oklahoma City. I'll be driving a fully loaded 26' U Haul truck, and there'll be two other vehicles, besides. With potty breaks for the kids and dogs, 10 hours. Asking for safety and no mechanical ( or mental) breakdowns. Thank you.

Be safe and keep your head on a swivel, these are odd times. Bon voyage.

“Historically, freedom is a rare and fragile thing . . . Freedom has cost the blood of millions in obscure places and in historic sites ranging from Gettysburg to the Gulag Archipelago . . .That something that cost so much in human lives should be surrendered piecemeal in exchange for visions and rhetoric seems grotesque. Freedom is not simply the right of intellectuals to circulate their merchandise. It is, above all, the right of ordinary people to find elbow room for themselves and a refuge from the rampaging presumptions of their ‘betters’.” Thomas Sowell

The budget should be balanced, the treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest we become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance. - Cicero 55 B.C.

Probably too late, but carry a 24 inch pipe wrench. Having done this several times, I have found the gas caps on the gas tank gets very tight.

    Be safe!

I have an app on my phone called "scanner radio". Might not be a bad idea if someone in your group had that or something similar to listen to police/fire communications in a city you are approaching.

“Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
    Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.I shall be telling this with a sigh
    Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.” -Robert Frost

To you and yours, be safe, be well.

May you have a safe journey in Jesus name.

One thing I have found that helps me on one rather long trip I take once or twice a year. Instead of taking the interstate and fighting that traffic going through all the large towns I use Waze on my cell phone as a navigator and try to avoid the interstate where I can. Traffic is usually much less and is slower- but is an easy drive- you are not all tensed up with the bumper to bumper traffic.
    Its worth looking into.

Another thing!!!.....many of the potty stops around here are closed! Maybe all be open out west.....but not here on the gulf coast.

You really don't have a lot of choice as to travel anything other than I-40 going to OK City from Albq. You will be fine, Clines Corners Santa Rosa and Tucumcari are pretty easy towns and usually have plenty pf places to stop. Texas is pretty tame, and I 40 through Oklahoma is also a friendly stretch.

Still, when I made the trip through the middle of Nowhere to North Dakota, it was weird to set out on that trip, knowing how much stuff was still closed down. The Stretch of I 40 you will be traveling is pretty friendly once you get out of Albuquerque, much better than towards Grants, Gallop and Winslow. No problems with the Cherokee nation in Oklahoma, that is for sure! For your trip, I would take the road most traveled.

    God Speed and safe travels.
