Well, the primary cop in Minneapolis was arrested and charged. . .

. . . with 3rd degree murder and manslaughter. His autopsy showed the damages expected by the physical acts seen at the scene plus contributing to his death are cardiovascular related. In essence, I think they will find the airway compromise aggravated his preexisting cardiovascular problems and led to his death.

I just wish the mob chaos would be nipped in the bud. News broadcasts of the last 3 days have been about the looting, the shooting (Kentucky) and burning. Not a peep about George Floyd himself.

And now this has somehow made its way into my state. Not a fan of CNN but don't want their building burned down either. There are some key state structures in the vicinity of the CNN building. Keisha Lance Bottoms (ATL mayor) is allowing this to happen and let Baltimore strategy (police stand down) run. And what advice is Al Sharpton offering? Don't burn down black owned properties - go for Asian and white owned properties.

We are staring down a much more dangerous - and highly visible - enemy than Covid here.

When a cop goes beyond His authority and assaults Someone to the point of resulting in their death They should be charged with murder, a badge is not a license to kill.
It is time to stand up.

Universally, this is seen as a bad death and even though fired from PD and arrested, we have to wait for the jury trial to play out. Protesting is fine and as American as it can be. Nobody I know of has a problem with protesting. the smashing, looting and burning on the other hand are the activities of feral animals that need to be put down. We saw similar subhuman displays in 92 in LA and the solution? Roof Koreans. If you are a business owner in one of the riot areas, Lock and load. Police will not arrive to save you, your property or your family.

I don't think you will see much of this in stand your ground states for some reason.

This may be a controversial statement but.... some (NOT all) but some blacks don't want equality. They want revenge. And they are incited and stirred to action by race pimps like Sharpton and Jackson, and by the leftist liberal/progressive/socialist press that glorifies and justifies their actions by providing them a national stage to 'air their grievances.' They are all nothing more than anarchists who would burn this country to the ground to achieve whatever ends they think it would achieve. What I find interesting and to a degree, amusing, is that in order to 'air grievances' and 'bring about justice' they burn their own communities and businesses down. So much so that Sharpton today called them out and urged the rioters to go after Asian and white owned businesses.

This is not to condone anything that Officer Derek Chauvin did in causing Mr. Floyd's death. It needs to be investigated and if Chauvin is found guilty he needs to be punished appropriately. But blacks rioting and burning down their own communities across America is not the way to achieve it.

I have never seen good from rioting. I didn't see it in the 60s, or in the 90s, or today.

But I don't have the mind of someone living in the "hood." I've never been a resident of the hood.

I do note, however, that although these riots are triggered by specific events, the explosion comes from fuel that has been building for a long time. That was true in LA in the 90s, for instance, when we found out about the long-time excesses of the Ramparts divisions. We've seen that officer Derek Chauvin, the man who kneeled on the neck of George Floyd, has a long string of years of abuse complaints and shootings, through which he'd been coddled by the department. And in an incident where a man suspected of passing a counterfeit $20 was killed while being arrested only a few minutes later, the man suspected of murder walked free for days afterward before being arrested.

As I said, I can't see a riot answers the mail. But I can't see that any other answers were working, either.

It's also interesting that the two men both worked as part-time bouncers in the same night club.

What happened was 100% wrong and tragic. Protesting is ok, but stealing, destroying buildings and cars and and also doing violent attacks like this below, is 100% wrong.. it does not prove "anything" nor does it honor anyone. To me, some other special interest group that is behind this:

Since these people are obviously protesting the arrest and filing of murder charges against the cop, they should drop the charges and just let him go.
