    Memorial Day "sales."

As we begin to "celebrate" Memorial Day, I have decided to mute or turn off any commercials touting "Memorial Day" savings. I'll relegate those commercials to the same dust bin in which I put commercials pushing "tactical" as a descriptor. Memorial Day is NOT a celebration as much as it is a reflection upon the ultimate sacrifices made by men and women who died to preserve our freedom. I only wish we were more worthy of those sacrifices. Maybe some day........

Yep......there is a lot more to Memorial Day than just a day-off or a sale.

All Gave Some, Some Gave All. I would bet that most 'kids' under 30 don't even know what Memorial Day is about.

While I understand your point, for many it's the only recognition they did/will get and the only day most will give them any thought...even if it is a "sales event". The meaning to all of our "Holidays" has long been lost.

While I'm here. Thank you to all our Veterans and the families who suffered the ultimate sacrifice.
