Wow, that may explain quite a bit. I often wake up hearing my wife call my name in a concerned tone, and I awaken dramatically. Sometimes I hear a VERY loud explosion. One night several months ago I heard the explosion again, and my wife flipped the lights on and shouted at me ( I couldn't hear her or anything.) Turns out a house one block away blew up from a gas explosion.

Sometimes my dead cats come and wake me up snuggling, too, but that may be something different. Used to be creepy but now it's kinda nice.

Make that 3 people you have helped.

I didn’t know there was a name for it either. I’ve had it happen a few times, and each time I’ve gotten up and made a check of the house.

Since my son has epilepsy, I tend to find the sudden noises as I'm just dozing off means he's fallen through a wall or something. If I jolt awake because of a sound, I immediately look to see if my wife also woke up or if the pups are freaking out. Generally if they are, it means he's down again and I go into medic mode.

It's good to know that I'm not the only one who has dealt with this. My experience is almost exactly like this.

    I've done that on airplanes.

I will have a muscle spasm every so often just before I sleep...an involuntary jump in my legs.

Darn dog has taken to doing a single bark at 0300-0400 ...he'll pause a few minutes and let out another. Now this has happened maybe three times in the last six months before last night. Now every time I think that he's got a digestive issue (he's maybe 8 or 9) and I drag myself out of bed, get dressed and take him down the street on his usual route. He will take a dump, in the usual spot with no urgency and I stumble back to bed for what sleep I can get.

This morning at 0300 the drill happens and as I took him out we frightened off the fat trash bandit that was dining on the bird seed in the front yard. So it's apparent that he is disturbing my sleep to alert me of a raccoon in the yard.

In the future if he does it again, he gets put in the basement..until the morning.

I had it happen to me one night, I drifted off to sleep and could have sworn someone was outside my bedroom window right by the front door.

I actually grabbed my nightstand gun and checked the front door.

My door has reinforcements so kicking it open is not going to happen!

My wife was still awake and watching TV and thought I was nuts!

Great another thing to add to my list of ailments that have popped up since I've passed the 60 mark.

    Still doesn’t explain the voices . . . .

Whats up with that, I have had that happen to me through my what seems like my whole body. Maybe once or twice a year. Scares the heck out of me.

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

The 2nd amendment is not about hunting or shooting sports, it is about the citizens of this country having the means to protect themselves and the states from the tyranny, oppression, and misery of an over powering government. Modern rifles are a means for the citizens to stand up to an over powering government.

I never knew it had a name. I think I have had that happen, a what was that moment followed by not finding anything.

my mind is blown reading that.
