things Which Make You Go, "Hmmmmm."

Ever notice in almost all of the Cop Shows (Blue Bloods, one of my favorites included) that in the door kicker scenes, the lead characters, wearing light body armor and carrying handguns, lead the SWAT team to and through the door? Of course the SWAT team is fully geared up and sometimes even stacked properly. Seems a case of taking "creative liberty" to me.

On the one side, it would be kind of funny to have the lead guy get shot for doing something that stupid

Yeah, I've noticed those kinds of obvious "let the stars lead the way" moments, too. It's a wonder they're still alive, isn't it? One of my favorites(?) was when CSI: Miami was being produced - lead character Horatio Caine would always lead a pack of police cars in his H2 Hummer, while the rest of the much faster vehicles stayed a respectful distance behind.

One I notice a lot is, all the police bust into a room, guns aimed at a perp, which has a gun aimed at them. They stand there and yell at this guy to drop his weapon. It just doesn’t work that way. He, in a real world would be put down within nano seconds.

Hmmmmm. If you watch the TV show SWAT, the lead characters always go in first too. Of course, SWAT always goes in first too. Something of a paradox...

I've found that inadvertently grabbing ahold of live, bare wire can give me that "hmmmm"......usually it's more of a "bdzzzzt" an' I get launched across the room or garage but if I'm lucky, I just get a "hmmmm" and a kind of tingling sensation.

Ouch, you brought back some memories.

We used a screwdriver to push the electric fence down and then step over it. You always knew when the handle of the screwdriver was broken. I remember once (and only once) when my brother held the wire down for me to step over. Once one leg was over, he let go of the wire and it was zapping me right between the legs. As I mentioned...that only happened once.

Never watched the show. Is the lead character suited up or in street clothes with a light body armor vest?

You have to remember that the Hollywood idea is also in the TV plots also. Like the never ending six guns that hold 18 or so rounds.

The show Swat is using a lot of creative liberties as the characters are always out doing investigations in their Swat uniforms. Swat is called when the SHTF and the perp is baracaded in or in a known place or as crowd control. They don't do the investigations they finish them.
