I have to confess I have vacuumed my sidewalk....

...but I used a shop vac which is slightly more manly. I was vacuuming out all the debris in the trench I dug with my edger. It was easier than blowing it out all over the place and having to sweep it up. The neighbors did think it a bit weird...but I don't care.

Not weird, but a great idea. I need to do that myself. My edger trench has a lot of gravel in it from the road.

It does depend on how particular you are about your yard. I'm incredibly particular.

I use a shop vac for harvesting the pecans in my backyard.

I’ve picked up acorns with mine before, but the best so far was the small leaves that fall to the ground after trimming my Japanese Boxwood hedge. If you start thinking about it, there are a lot of things that may be unorthodox uses for the wet/dry vacs.

I do it all the time. Blow it into a pile, vacuum it up.
