    Sillyish question time

The wife an I are watching Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. We find ourselves questioning that scene where Indi is trying to rescue his father and Marcus Brody from the tank. At one point he shoots through four Nazis. We looked it up- there are loads if Indiana Jones fan sites on the internet- in this movie, he carries a Webley WG Army model .455 revolver.

Our question: how likely is it to put a .455 round through four bodies, even at point blank range?

Four bodies? Well, if that's what the script says, ballistics don't matter.

I won't say it's impossible but assume it's highly improbable. It'd prob'ly require a perfect storm of coincidences to make it happen......I wouldn't be throwin' any money down on it.

Matthew Quigley shot two ne're-do-wells standing in tandem, but his 45-110 Sharps rifle with 540 grain paper-patch bullet had a bit more going for it, than does a .455 Webley.

Pretty sure my 124gr 9mm FMJ would penetrate all 4, provided it didn't hit a bone on any one of the first three bad guys, but I think the .455 Webley used solid lead, hence "soft" and more prone to deformation and stopping and/or direction change.

...'bout as likely as finding the Holy Grail, I guess.

It depends on how much suspension of disbelief you have.
