77 Trans Am, huh? Bandit! Is that you, Bandit?

I had the 77 Black Trans AM too! The 1st one in my town. It was bad to the bone.

I went to see Smokey and the Bandit after the movie a Vet pulled up at a red light! The race was on! Not sure what it had in it but I smoked when I grabbed 2nd gear.

    Awesome car!

I think that depends on how serious Ford is about taking on Tesla...

Supposedly Ford is getting out of cars completely. They want to keep the Mustang name it's going
to have to be on at least a crossover.

    https://fortune.com/2018/04/25/ford-...g-cars-sedans/

Honda, Hyundai, Nissan, and Toyota all have U.S. factories WITHOUT UNIONS. They can make cars
for less money overall. Ford is going to try to just make their most profitable vehicles to make money.

I read once that $1500 of every GM vehicle goes to pay benefits to retired union workers. That's a BIG
    cut off the top.

I remember when the stores started selling water in 12-20 oz plastic bottles, and thinking: "What's going to happen to all these plastic bottles?"
Then they started pushing everyone to use those pig-tail CFL lightbulbs, but the bulbs had to be disposed of as hazardous waste, and I thought: "Well, that's not going to happen. People are just going to throw them out in the trash."
Now they're pushing electric cars, and I'm thinking: "What's going to happen with all the old batteries?"

I read that the corporate health benefits was the largest contributing factor to new vehicle cost. I wish I could find that article.

I didn't find that article but I did find this: https://carfromjapan.com/article/ind...to-make-a-car/ , which does not support what I thought I read elsewhere.

Here's a real electric Mustang, albeit with 1000 hp, but no word as to it's range and charging time.

Also, here's what Ford has recently come up with on an Electric Mustang with 900 hp.

And "corporate health benefits" is why major corporations are in favor of medicare for all. They can get this out of control cost off their plate and not look like the bad guy. That's the same reason we have medicare in the first place--large corporations who gave retirees health benefits in their pensions were free and clear once Medicare came about. They could pay for an insignificant supplement and save the entire cost of the retiree's health care.

Worker's compensation is the exact same thing. People will tell you that it protects employees, but what it really does is protect employers from law suits. Imagine how much lower your liability insurance is if you can't be sued for injuring one of your employees?

These big government programs aren't about socialism. They are about the rest of us footing the bill for poor management decisions of times gone by.
