    Veterans Day November 11, 2019

To all of those who served to defend not only our freedom, but the cause of freedom around the globe, thank you for your sacrifices. Freedom is never free they say, because it must be protected daily and some days the price is very high. God bless all of you that have served and that are still in uniform.

I have never served. I've done my time as a taxpayer first class.

I will be having lunch with a Viet Nam vet, and dinner with a desert storm vet. They'll both talk if you ask questions, but only if you ask. I'll be asking, and I'll certainly be thanking.

I will always view my time in the Navy as a blessed opportunity and would like to thank all those who whether directly or indirectly, somehow made it possible. I appreciate all those who didn't serve, for leaving an opening for me as you will likely never truly realize the sacrifices you've made. Every taxpayer out there helped put me through the Navy and I feel beholding to all for the privilege. To all of America......thank you for my service. It was the best time of my life.

God bless all veterans on here and who are no longer with us. My dad, a Marine, died in 2016 and I always miss going to his house on Veterans day and hanging out with him. I did that every year for many years until he died. I miss him terribly.

I am glad that I served in the US Navy and I made some lifelong friends while doing it. I am also very grateful that I was able to serve and make it back home as there are a lot that gave their all and did not make it back home over the years. I will always be thankful for their sacrifice so that we can enjoy the freedoms that we have !

Thank You to ALL our Veterans!!!

Your sacrifice has safe guarded our Freedoms. May WE as citizens of this great country, NEVER let you down. Be Strong!
When people lose their way and begin to vote for their own yokes and chains and suddenly we’re all wearing them, when Government turns tyrannical and the light of liberty is being extinguished.... our 2nd amendment is our ONLY hope.

God bless those who stepped up when their country called. God bless their families who sacrificed for the time they were deployed and especially those families who never got to again enjoy the company of those troopers who gave all.

I will be celebrating at the local Middle School. Last Thursday, the local High School celebrated Vets. The appreciation both groups show is sincere, non-patronizing and real. I love living in small town America.

Today, Happy Birthday to the US Marines. All though we tease and fight with each other, we sure as hell combine forces in times of crisis. I'm proud to have served with Marines. Semper Fi from a former Swabbie.

Now that DH and I live in the heart of the midwest, the Black Hills of South Dakota, it's really a different world where being a veteran is something that is actually respected and appreciated! I, too, like mouseman (kschilk) am very grateful for my time in the service; I was in the Army and Airborne qualified (DH was Army and EOD), although never had enough time in service to actually retire. I learned so much about myself, life, and people in general. As I've gotten older, I've found that I appreciate the history of our country more and more and am so thankful for all those that have served to protect our way of life. To all our fellow veterans and active duty servicemen, and to their families- thank you for your service and sacrifices!
