Silver was bobbling along between $14-16 until mid-July. Now it is $17.98 spot. Gold, Platinum, etc are doing about as much.

The Fed suddenly had to step into the repo market a couple if days ago. Now they are staying in it for a while. Like a month. Here's what bothers me:

Nobody's talking about what's up. Which means...

    1. They don't know. That's pretty scary.
    2. They know, but ain't saying. That's scary as hell.

I'm thinking somebody large is having an liquidity issue....probably in Europe? We'll find our eventually. Eh, maybe it's nothing....

I thought that maybe I was the only one who noticed those few nights of $50 Billion and $75 Billion funding wires being done under the cloak of darkness.

Let me add to the uncertainty, the problem with CHINA. This is a short, but good read. I do not have any idea how it bears on the OP's article, but in a sense, all this is global now, anyway.

    https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/hele...lost-trade-war

This commentator thinks China has already lost the trade war. If so, that bodes for a much higher level of uncertainty within Communist China and their ruling elite will begin to thrash about even more. You know what they say about a war being great for the economy - I guess it works for them, too.
You must be careful what you pretend to be, because in the end, you are what you pretend to be.
    ....................Kurt Vonnegut, in "Mother Night"

All governments suffer a recurring problem: Power attracts pathological personalities. It is not that power corrupts but that it is magnetic to the corruptible. Such people have a tendency to become drunk on violence, a condition to which they are quickly addicted. . . . . . . . . . . . .. — Frank Herbert, Chapterhouse: Dune
