    Road Trip!!

Mrs. Chef and I are hitting the road! Early Thursday morning we are head to Knoxville and God's Country. I30 from Dallas into Arkansas (I usually flip off the "Home of the 42nd President William Jefferson Clinton" sign as we pass into Arkansas) and then pickup I40 in Little Rock through Memphis, Nashville, on to Knoxville. Going to see the family and take the boat to see the Vols play Chattanooga in Neyland Stadium. (Maybe they can even win this one!) Prolly go out to the lake house in Shelbyville and I am going to make a run to Smokey Mountain Guns and Ammo in Sevierville. Taking the Henry, the Marlin .30-30, Heritage RR, and my carry G2. Texas and Tennessee have reciprocity so carrying in Tennessee should not be a problem. I have printed out the applicable laws for TX, TN, and transit through AR just to be safe and will carry the those at all times just be safe. Return will be later the next week. Lest any bad guys out there reading this think this would be a good time to burgle the Chef's kitchen, my next door neighbor is also a 2A guy and has a hair trigger!! My wife also has a trusted employee who will be visiting the house daily. Anyways I look forward to a few days off and a well deserved vacation for both of us! (I'm trying to persuade my wife to make a side trip over to Cheatham County to see Hickok 45 but I think that's gonna' be a no go.)

Ammo will get you through times of no money, better than money will get you through times of no ammo.

Just got back from the trip. Was able to get to SMGA and yikes!! What a place. Pretty much every knife known to man and a knick-knack hunters dream. I bought stiletto pocket pen. $4.95 in the bargain bin, big spender. Jet ski's on the lake and went to the game by boat. Sat in the box. My BIL has a friend that owns a few restaurants in Knoxville and he has a box at the stadium. We ate at his place Chesapeake's in west town and as soon as he found out I was a chef I was golden. Ha! Tough life but somebody has to do it. Vols eaked out a 45-0 win!

“Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote" - Benjamin Franklin

When Leonidas was preparing to make his stand, a Persian envoy arrived. The envoy explained to Leonidas the futility of trying to resist the advance of the huge Persian army and demanded that the Spartans lay down their arms. Leonidas told Xerxes "MOLON LABE", or "Come And Get Them."

Well we're already back so we must have driven carefully! Left last night about 3:30am and got home here to TX about 4pm. 12+ hours straight through.

I hope that you flipped off the Billy C sign again on the way through.

Glad you had a good time and a safe trip.

Just one question, though. That picture - - what kind of shooting range is it that has that many people all around it?

You must be careful what you pretend to be, because in the end, you are what you pretend to be.
