    Happy LBJ Day!

LBJ Day is a legal holiday here in the Lone Star State, created by the state legislature after his death. It falls every year on August 27, LBJ's birthday. If he were still here, he'd be 111 today. Happy birthday LBJ! Any day off is a good day off!

Well...it's the lounge so I won't say anything political. I will go so far as to say that he was one of the worst five POTUS IMO.

I am a Texan who sees LBJ as a useless Piece Of garbage. He caused the death of over 58,193 good men and women for no good reason. They are all my brothers and sisters.

I'm not a fan of his policies either, or of the man himself. In fact, LBJ Day it is probably the only good thing that resulted from his presidency. I'm merely marking the observance of an official state holiday where our dedicated public servants get a break. Believe me, they need it! I did not post it to start a political discussion at all or stir up feelings. Actually, I thought y'all might think it's kind of "funny" that it is an official holiday. FTF on that one! Peace!

I never knew that it was a state holiday! I bet I know how the roll call vote went to get that passed.

He may have been very unpopular, but his wife Ladybird was a class act all the way. For many years, if you were getting married and sent them a invitation or notice, she would sent you a gift. No kidding. For all of LBJ's terrible politics, his wife was truly his better half.

When Leonidas was preparing to make his stand, a Persian envoy arrived. The envoy explained to Leonidas the futility of trying to resist the advance of the huge Persian army and demanded that the Spartans lay down their arms. Leonidas told Xerxes "MOLON LABE", or "Come And Get Them."

Yes, happy b-day LBJ...if you were still alive I'd give you another bogus Silver Star medal.
