It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood!

We have another day or so of this gorgeous weather! It was about 72 degrees at 8:30 this morning when I walked out to drink my coffee on the porch. Beautiful land, beautiful blue sky. I guess enjoy it while I can. I took the time to give my little Cub Cadet a tune up while the weather is so nice. I changed the oil and filter, plugs, and air cleaner. I'd mow the grass, but before it gets long enough to bother with, the heat will be back. Bummer. In the meantime, though, after my shower, I'll get out there and pop a few caps and enjoy myself. I'm feeling better, almost normal, and this weather has me fired up.

The weather down in south Texas is good also, very low humidity. That's make all the difference in the world.

You say that like it's a good thing....

Actually, now that I've been through two major forest fires, I know it is, but in general dry weather is awesome. It was hot here this weekend, but the weekdays have been sooooo nice.

I have a garden. Gardens really jump with rain. I have sprinklers, but they don't react to the well water as well as they do RAIN and rain doesn't require moving sprinklers around.

Of course, out there, why garden when you have a lifetime supply of Nopalitos growing around you?

MAN, I had a great day yesterday sitting on the back porch with a good friend and shooting some of my handguns. Didn't even have to go inside and cool off. I'm feeling a lot stronger, too, able to walk a ways without passing out. My endurance is up.

This is the last day of the great weather for us. South wind is going to bring back the humidity and heat and they're even talking rain to replace those incredible blue skies. Oh, well, I knew it wouldn't last. Heck, it's JULY after all. Now, I can look forward to October.

I'm with you on the weather.

Last week-end it was miserably hot and humid. Monday was pretty much the same except that we had a short thunderstorm in the afternoon as the front came through. Tuesday and the rest of the week was in the mid 80s … in late July … in Texas! Unbelievable.

We're supposed to have another couple of days of slowly increasing temperatures and quickly increasing humidity and then, back to normal but it was nice while it lasted.

Well, we need rain, but most of it's supposed to be east of Houston....as usual, so I'm running the water hoses again. I don't water the grass, just the garden and select fruit trees.
