I watch the show often, also think about taking up the craft. It is one thing to have a project with your own parameters, methods and amount of time to produce a project, it is definitely a different matter to be on stage with others setting the guidelines, materials design and time frame.

The difference is indeed ferreted out when all the constraints are applied. Even confidence can go down the gutter quickly.

Experience is a great amount of the various factors, but ability to stay cool under duress is probably the other greatest factor.

He has some incredible looking knives. The 10" chefs knife with the Damascus blade and Mokume-gane bolster is incredible. ONE day I will be stupid enough to attempt something like that.

My grandfather's 90-poud anvil is now for sale. $2.00/lb, plus shipping and handling.
