Sorry for your loss, Czech.
He is much older than I so we weren't contemporaries, which also made me put him on a pedestal. He was my BIG brother. His Dad was killed in a truck accident some 5 years before my Dad met my Mom, but there was never any distinction made by anyone in the family. We were tight and an attack or a slight against one was that against all. Funny thing is we inherited the same vocal cords and voice box. I would call his kids on the phone and they thought I was their Dad.
Our lives paralleled one another in many ways, but he married young and had five kids of his own and raised two stepkids as his own. Even as he moved to other states we remained close in contact and in our hearts.
He had a rough go of it in the past five years, losing his wife who was much younger, of twenty five years about two years back to cancer. He was diagnosed diabetic some 20 years ago and managed his disease somewhat haphazardly. He was confined to a wheelchair with limited mobility the last few years, but enjoyed seeing his kids and the rest of us. We got together just last weekend for a pizza party when his NC kids were in town. I wish now that I had spent more time with him...then and before...but that's probably everyone's wish once it's too late.
The memories come flooding back this morning after I heard the news. I know that he resides with our Lord now and it is up to us to carry on, until we meet again. Rest in peace my brother.
“…democratic socialism, the great utopia of the last few generations, is not only unachievable but that to strive for it produces something utterly different – the very destruction of freedom itself. As has been aptly said: ‘What has always made the state a hell on earth has been precisely that man has tried to make it his heaven.'” F.A. Hayek
Sorry for your loss, Czech.
All you need for happiness is a good gun, a good horse, and a good wife.

I wasn't nearly as close to my brother in law, but it still hurt like hell when he passed away. I'm so sorry for your loss and for what you and his family are going through. Take that wheelchair out and burn it; he doesn't need it any more.

When people lose their way and begin to vote for their own yokes and chains and suddenly we’re all wearing them, when Government turns tyrannical and the light of liberty is being extinguished.... our 2nd amendment is our ONLY hope.
Sorry to hear of your loss. Brothers probably only even get along in about half of brother-brother relationships.
My older brother moved 1600 miles away and we are estranged, have been off and on for most of our lives.
