Some would look at the meme you posted and say "how can you deny that the climate is changing?"

The chart I posted is an example of how correlation proves nothing - you have to look deeper to actually prove something. Ice cream eating and sharkbite are highly correleated; when one rises, the other also rises. The "look at those glacier photos!!!!" crowd would say that proves that eating ice cream causes shark bite. That, of course, is ridiculous. People happen to eat ice cream more in the same type of weather in which lots of people like to go to the beach, and that increases the risk of shark bite.

Without doing controlled experiments that eliminate confounding factors, you can't prove anything. No, Mr. Gore, taking polls of people who've won grants proves absolutely nothing at all. Climatologists can't do controlled experiments that eliminate confounding factors.

My question to these climatologists is two fold. 1. what are we going to do when faced with a cataclysmic volcanic eruption like Yellowstone. No one seems to have a clue when this might happen. 2. How on earth are you all going to stop Continental Shift and the climate change that is going to bring? Just imagine, a bridge from NY to England just across the river!

Krakatoa resulted in global climate change.

as well as other eruptions like Tambora earlier which gave us the "year without a Summer".

Just 3 years of climate disruption could lead to mass famine and death. China would be begging us for soybeans.

The Mount Pinatubo eruption in 1991 had a similar effect to Krakatoa, though not on the same scale. Nonetheless that eruption dropped temps around the world for two years. When Mt. St Helens erupted in '80, it spewed much lower levels of sulphur and the effects of its volcanic cloud were not nearly as pronounced to the climate. Man-made particulate pollution is an interesting phenomenon. Some air pollution actually has a cooling effect and recent rises in atmospheric temps may have something to do with legislation to curb pollution, particularly in Europe where they are seeing records this summer. Check out "global dimming" if you have the time....

Actually......it's prob'ly people smoking krakatoa that resulted in the climate change claims.

They don't and won't impress me ever. My wifes eldest sister passed 3 years ago and she was in possession of their grandmothers old diaries. When her sister passed she left the diaries to my wife. As we read them we see that grandma recorded the days temps and weather conditions. Lo and behold it says the same thing, temps were actually warmer then than now. So I researched the weather data for this area before the late 19th century and found it was also warmer then. So I don't listen when they talk about climate change and argue when someone brings it up to me.

20,000 years ago when the last period of glaciation startedto reverse, the ocean was 400+ft lower(water was tied up in ice). 12,000 years ago the glaciers that covered northern USA had retreated enough that the Great Lakes were formed. the sea levels have risen as the glaciers retreated and melted, though the rate of increase has slowed(on average that's 50ft/century, a LOT more than the globul warming people cry about). so if you live north of the mason dixon line today, thank global warming, if you were a native american who owned beach front property 10,000 years ago in florida. sucks to be you.

I'm still thinking Volcanic Eruption or Meteorite Impact. We will deforest the planet and poison the oceans then over populate this fish bowl and we will all suffocate. Or maybe our Sun will just burn out and turn into a Red Giant! Let's see them stop that!

I just don't get it. Yesterday (if I heard the news correctly) was the anniversary of the hottest day ever recorded in Kansas, at 121F. Maybe I shouldn't drive my Suburban. Maybe I shouldn't use R12 any more. Maybe I shouldn't use my backyard grill or burn gasoline in the lawnmower.

But wait. That 121F record was in NINETEEN THIRTY-SIX! What did my grandparents do to cause that hot of a temperature? If only they were still here so I could ask them, then blame them for the global catastrophe!

Wait! Your Grandparents were responsible for the Dust Bowl?
If they were only alive today, the stories they could tell. I bet they had a little magic box so could change the weather, hidden in their barn.

Is the family name hated in Kansas?
