    Hey all...

Have not been around much lately, hopefully that will change some coming up here soon. As some know my house suffered severe damage from Hurricane Irma 1 year 9 months ago. House was/is livable but needed many repairs including a complete new roof, not just shingles but sheathing and all. Pretty much came out on the short end of the stick as far as insurance goes with the extremely high deductibles and prorated life of the roof that was in excellent condition for its age. Anyway I decided I was not going to go into debt to get the repairs done so I have been working my full-time job and a few side jobs to save money for repairs. Finally this past Friday I was able to sign on the dotted line with a local roofer to get the repairs started. Hopefully in about 3-4 weeks I will have a completely new roof.

One good thing about waiting so long was the demand and prices came down. Also working one of my side jobs I met the owner of a local roofing company and he gave me an excellent price on my new roof. He normally does much bigger jobs on high end homes but likes to help out the few locals that are still around that work for a living. I can appreciate that. His help has given me the extra funds to purchase one of my bucket list guns. Just finished ordering it online looking at 7-10 days for it to come in. No spoilers you will have to wait until I get it to find out what it is. Guess if you want, I'm not telling.

Have not shot much at all in the last year, been basically working 70-90 hours a week for a little over a year now. Some time in the last year, I really can't remember when I was able to pick up a couple of revolvers form an elderly gentleman that was selling off his collection. Still have not had the opportunity to shoot them so no range reports.

One is a Taurus Poly 605, he never cared for the recoil in the Poly 605 and only shot a few cylinders of .357 in it and maybe a box of 50 .38 spl. Revolver is in excellent condition.

While looking down the list of 50+ guns he was selling I could not believe what I saw, a 6" Rossi .22lr Plinker. I have been looking for one of those for many years with no luck. So I became the happy owner of it as well.

Here are a couple pictures I snapped, not the greatest but better than nothing. Hopefully soon I will get them to the range. Anyway I hope to hang around a little more and get caught up in what you all have been doing while I have been away.

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

The 2nd amendment is not about hunting or shooting sports, it is about the citizens of this country having the means to protect themselves and the states from the tyranny, oppression, and misery of an over powering government. Modern rifles are a means for the citizens to stand up to an over powering government.

Glad to hear about the roof.
I've been looking for a Plinker.
My wife fell in love with it when she shot it in Rapid city two years ago
    She wants one.

Glad it worked out that your roof funds and incidental roofer contact worked out so well. Nice acquisitions, both of them.

It looks like not only did you get the guns, you also got all the accouterments that came with them off the shelf. Sweet.

Received everything with both, boxes, all paperwork, even original buyers receipts for gun and transfer fees. Plus notes on rounds fired and extra grips for both.

I still have one stubborn dead limb that is about 10" diameter and 30 feet long hanging in the back side of a huge tree in my yard. It is pretty much locked in place so it will stay.

It's great to see you back and to hear that you've got the house repairs underway! I am looking forward to seeing your new bucket list gun.

I'm glad to hear all is well, I was concerned at your absence. Happy that life after Irma is starting to return to normal and that you will soon return to your normal routine. Congrats on the new to you wheel guns! Looking forward to the reveal of the latest acquisition! My guess would be some sort of 50....
