    David Gilmour's Instrument Auction

    .
I believe kschilk posted a while ago about Gilmour's auction of his instruments to benefit charity.
His 1974 Jedson lap steel just sold for $300,000.
    Darn.
    Missed it by that much.......................> I <

All gone! His Guitar Collection sold for $21.5 Million. https://www.christies.com/features/D...ts-9974-3.aspx

Fortunately, I've enough Guitars to play with at the moment. Have been gathering parts to build a Super-Strat, but have not had the time to work on it.

Turned a pretty profit that's for sure!

"The best, however, was saved until last when ‘The Black Strat’, which was integral to the recording of Pink Floyd albums The Dark Side Of The Moon (1973), Wish You Were Here (1975), Animals (1977) and The Wall (1979), sold for $3,975,000 — a new world record for a guitar at auction."

Unfortunately, I made One Slip.......I'm gonna' claim Brain Damage on this one. I regret ever bring this up, I was unaware of the "charity" involved. As I was just Biding My Time yesterday, I found out the proceeds of this auction will be donated to Flaming climate change activists. Wot's....Uh The Deal? I am Lost For Words, this all leaves me in a state of Sorrow as I am now On The Turning Away from DG and Pink Floyd. ...he can keep his ______' guitars, I have no respect for Sheep.

Gilmore slipped several spots in my book of favorites. Lot more worthy causes that money could have benefited. Juvenile cancer research would be first....
