...don't suppose anyone here has a few spare B-25s and an extra aircraft carrier just sittin' around, eh?

I haven't been told this, but I think the ads are here intentionally. But they are meant to be seen only by guests, or when you are not logged on. I've seen them work this way on other sites.
I think the issue may be in correcting the target and hiding them as intended. "Sponsored", to me means these ads are paid for. Just the proper tweaking needs to be found to make the rest of us happy. We've gotten almost daily assurance, that this is still be worked on.

I've only seen one today, early this morning, and none since then. Awaiting word whether they are gone for good or not.

Since the topic ads are still appearing and it's been a while since this was last updated, I wanted to wake it up to find out how the tech folks are doing in the effort to squash the ads...

I see them too. Was told this morning they are still trying to figure out how to stop this. They don't seem to be as frequent to me, but I've since downloaded a simple ad blocker. Works fine.

I use AdBlocker and back out of any site that wants me to turn it off in order to see their content. I get zero ads.

IS a version of AdBlocker available for MacOS?
One problem I see with using an advertisement blocker is that when an anomaly/problem like we're currently experiencing arrives, you're not aware of it or think those reporting the problem are seeing things.
