Have you ever been in a commercial?

In September 2018 my wife and I were involved in an accident that totaled our Tahoe. Later in March 2019 OnStar sent a film crew to our home to film a commercial. You can view it right now at the following link: https://www.onstar.com/us/en/article...lision-helped/

Nice! You guys did a great job too. I actually found it a very compelling ad to have onstar too. Must have been fun to make!

To answer your question I have been in a commercial, in fact it was a Super Bowl commercial! Well actually it was a local ad that the Super Bowl is forced to allow during the game so it only aired locally. It was for a computer equipment supplier and I was their largest buyer at the time. Not very interesting and it was even pre VCR so no copy lol.

I've seen enough folks make appearances (and fools of themselves) on TV ads and local news reports to have decided, a long time ago, that I would never allow myself to be recorded for broadcast. Ever.

    Your mileage may vary.

I hope you're both doing ok from the accident. I know 377 quite well and there seems to be a high percentage of idiots and DB's that suddenly forget how to drive safely on that road. The commercial looked believable as I'm sure it was. I'm thankful they made it as they did and didn't try to sensationalize the events.

Nice ad for On Star! That sound like a horrendous crash!

I've never looked for mine on-line...have some VCR tapes around somewhere.

I found this one...I am a glimpse at 9 seconds in:

At 2:55 on this clip is the same scene, longer exposure:

There's another one where I am giving directions to a "businessman"..can't find that one.

It is a great gig...If you ever get a shot at doing one, do not delay. I would get a check in the mail for a few thousand every 4-6 weeks...probably made 20 grand +/-.

Just found another one...I am at .40 second

Never been on TV for ads, been on for some other things ( choir performances, gospel guitar stuff, etc... ). However Back in the 70's I produced bunches of radio commercials for KFDI, so just my melodius voice selling this or that, along with a bunch of community service ads. SO if you were driving a 18 wheeler or a tractor around central US in the early 70's, and it was late at night - you probably heard me. Oh by the way you kids made a great commercial!
