Fascinating! I'd love it hear one in person. Given the names he was comparing it to when discussing price, I wonder if they'll come out with a more budget model to get their name out there.

No thanks. My guitar money isn't spent on novelties.

A very cool instrument that had some incredible thought put into it's design and construction. However, it seems like a lot of guitars in the past that have tried to be everything to everyone never had a lot of appeal to the mass market.

I know very little about electric guitars (for a guy who owned a music store), yet I can imagine all the Les Paul fans saying that putting their favorite pickups on something that's not a Les Paul won't give them the sound they want. Same with Tele and Strat fans. In truth, guitar guys are like gun guys: they want an excuse to build up a collection of different things.

(See Doctordeere's comment above, which I read just now. Do I know guitar guys or what? )

Guitars are sorta' like guns, they don't usually go off by themselves. They'll pretty much do whatever who's playing them can do. I'd like to hear it in real life and with a little more variation in tones but with the metal frame and hollowish(?) body, I'd think the sustain would be nearly infinite. Personally, I'm a different guitar for every different sound guy but for a touring musician, I can see a super advantage to the quick-swap pickups. One of these could take the place of a few others and leave a lot of extra room in the van. The magnet-attached back is a cool idea for those of us that maintain our own stuff.
