There's also Loyola - New Orleans. But I don't think they have a nursing program there. But that would be more fun.

There are so many other great schools in states that are constitutionally gun friendly and safer than Loyola. Schools in NC & SC are first rate for nursing schools and can guarantee she will enjoy her education. Trouble will be getting her to come back home.

I assume the poster's daughter was all set to go to school, but it seems many are offering other schools.

Here in KS, if she becomes a resident, she doesn't need any permission from the government to carry open or concealed. She can even carry in government owned buildings (such as universities) unless they take positive steps (guards, metal detectors, etc.) to keep armed criminals out of the building. Of course, private buildings can restrict carrying, just like any of us can restrict carrying in our private residences.

thanks all, esp on suggestions for other schools. but she is a big girl and decided Layola was her first choice, for a variety of reasons, at least one of i heartily disagree with. She already has her BS and Loyola has a program she really felt was a good fit for her. As long as she graduates and is happy with nursing, it will all be good

Congrats to the proud parents and my hats off to your daughter for choosing such a noble profession and for being bright enough and tenacious enough to pursue the rigorous course.
