Seriously, I have no idea where the new year will take me, but I expect it to be interesting.
You'd be in the same situation even if you hadn't quit. I've been retired for 10 years and have no idea where the new year will take me.

In 1975, I quit my job as an electronics technician in the city, moved back to the small town where I grew up, got married to a woman with two kids, then started looking for another job. 33 years later I retired, have four wonderful grandchildren, and am living the good life. Things have a way of working out.

Here's to you!! I did that twice and it worked out really well both times. It varied my retirement portfolio in ways that I never would have done on my own; made nearly everything in my life better in the long run.

In Feb it will be 3 years since I've worked. Not completely by choice. The last 1.5 years that I worked I was terminated starting with my last long term employer and the twice while working for a staffing service. As it worked out the day before I was terminated from my last job I had just received my letter from SSI that my disability had been granted. Sad part was 4 months later I was back in the hospital.

Though I have to say that through all these years even when things didn't go as planned or looked bleak somehow everything always seemed to work out.
