Any Scooter riders here in the family?

Now I'm not talking motorcycle riders. I know that there are a number of you here who ride. I am more focused on those who ride a Scooter AKA: wanta be a motorcycle when they grow up Scooters. Yes, I am talking about a Scooter that you don't have to lift your leg up and over the fuel tank, but rather simply step aboard and place your feet down on the flat floor.

I have ridden motorcycles in the past decades every where from KRL Kawasaki's, Cruisers and Full Dress bikes. All have there plus and minuses to consider.

I don't see myself as would be a casual local rider, to be honest others on the road scare the hell out of me anymore. I am also not really wanting to be holding up a 700 pound bike any longer.

But as of late I find myself bored and giving thought of riding again against my better judgement. I mean this is Texas where the heat of the road surface could melt a the soul of a shoe and the radiation heat could fry an egg on the fuel tank at a stop light.

As an option I have been researching a few Scooters for consideration. I have found myself more focused and drawn to the Honda SilverWing which is a 600cc with ABS braking.

Of course while trying not to be vein I'm not sure about the whole Scooter persona. Not to mention the strange looks I would receive as a 62 year old, larger stature male tootling a long down the road.

Hey, get yourself a do rag and that SilverWing, a nice bike. If you really care what people think about how you look, you you need to age a little more. Good wine and good people get better with age.

When I was younger, back in the late 1800's, I had a Cushman scooter.
I went more places and had more fun on that darn thing.
It is still one of my fondest memories of those times.
True, you have to watch out for everyone else on the road just like when on a motorcycle,
and they aren't nearly as peppy as a bike but it was an excellent, fun and economical way for
me to get around. On nice days I even took it out just to get my face in the breeze.
Some of the new "scooters" available are fairly fast and agile and have storage bags and racks etc
    that make them very versatile.

This is exactly what mine looked like.
3 different shades of ugly but it was fun and I put a lot of miles on it........

I think that might be 60cc...or it's the world's most powerful scooter.

Edit: looks like it is 600cc? That classifies as a bike in my mind.
