What firearms really caught your interest while growing up?

For me it was the Gatling gun at around the age of 8, when I was a teen it was the Colt Python and Harry Sanford's .44 AutoMag. (Lee Jurras of Super Vel fame made the ammo for it if i'm not mistaken) then after high school it was the prototype of the Atchisson Assault 12 followed by the USAS 12 in my young adult years I won't go into adulthood because there are WAY too many to list. The Tompson Sub Machine gun. I finally got to hold one a few weeks back with a 50 round drum and it is still one awesome looking gun.

For me it was the guns the cowboys used. Still fascinates me to this day.

The guns around the house and the BAR I would see in movies at other folks houses. We didn't have a TV once I was past 7 or so.

When I was a kid only two guns inspired awe upon me.

Any 12 gauge shotgun and any "30 ought 6". I didn't even know what an ought was, but all my friends spoke of all their dad's deer rifles like they were the best of the best. Any .30-06 was legendary to us school kids no matter the reality.

As a young man I always enjoyed the series "Combat" and I wanted to be the soldier carrying the BAR. In my teenage years my dad was quite a gun buff and collector. I seemed to favor his H&K 91 and 93.

All guns, any guns caught my interest....I just love guns, long guns, short guns, big guns, small guns, single shots, machine guns, cannons, pea shooters as long as it goes bang or boom or pffftttt (air gun) I love guns. Cowboy guns, Flintlocks, Rolling blocks, Matchblocks, chainguns, zip guns...no difference....I love guns.
    By the way....I love guns!

+1 for me. The first gun to really capture my interest was the model 94 Winchester lever action! Too many cowboy shows to watch as a kid I guess!

Maybe Old Betsy in Fess Parkers hands impressed me the first time.
