    With both Ebay and Amazon if the shipping is free the item will be sent either via UPS Surepost or Fedex Smartpost. Those are the cheapest options for the sender. I've had some extended delivery times but man I'm reading some real horror stories here.

    No, they don't have the same hours in rural post offices. 15 months ago they were gonna close it and then decided to cut the hours back instead. The much nicer larger one is only 4 miles away. I figure this one will close eventually. But the route for this one is huge.

    I'm thinking they get to your little post office and it's closed, so they send it back. Have them stop it, wherever it's closest to you and go pick the darned thing up. It's going to be worn out before it gets to you.
