Saw on the local news this morning how gas prices have risen massively in Lubbock. 10 cents is massive? Gas near me had increased yesterday by 10 cents overnight. $2.35 a gal. I paid $2.05 wIth my discount.

Here in Doo-dah, the gas price went from $2.19 to $2.45 a couple days ago. I wouldn't say that's massive, but it was more than 10%, so I'd say it was significant. I'm guessing "massive" is a buzz word the news "reporters" use to get attention. Our prices usually jump up 10 or 15 cents every couple of weeks, then spend the next couple of weeks trickling down a penny or two a day until the next big jump. It used to always be on the same day of the week, but apparently the gas companies figured out that we knew that, so now it is random.

I'm sure it is all taking advantage of the Iran/Saudi issue. Heck, if there was world news that could allow me to get 20% more out of my product for a few days, I'd do it too. I remember back on 9/11 (2001) there was a local gas station that raised his price to $5.49 per gallon. He was chewed out by his distributor and the government was threatening price gouging prosecution. Apparently there are many that fear the free market.

At least prices are still lower than when this thread was started in 2008. No bargain, but a little lower.

We went from $2.27 to $2.45 over night 2 nights ago. I saw this morning one station came down to $2.39. I used Gas Buddy to find what stations did not jump up yet Tuesday evening and was able to fill the tank at $2.27 before they went up some time over night.
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

The 2nd amendment is not about hunting or shooting sports, it is about the citizens of this country having the means to protect themselves and the states from the tyranny, oppression, and misery of an over powering government. Modern rifles are a means for the citizens to stand up to an over powering government.
