    35/444 Marlin Judge Load

As those who have read some of my posts know, I have been working on a 410/444 loading. Uses a 444 Marlin brass to make 410 shot shells 410 expressly for use in a Judge. Well ... I had a thought. Why not sue the 444 Marlin case to load a single projectile load with a more balistically clean projectile.

So ... load a 235g 35 cal Siera Game KIng BT bullet in a 410 shot wad cup, over an appropriate powder charge. put a plastic shot wad over the top of it all, crimp and seal. Much better balliastics than a 45 slug. Will it group as well?

I plan to get some bullets and give it a go.

Maybe try sabots that they use for black powder loads

I doubt that you can get enough velocity to stabilize the bullet.

The full length shot wad w 0.358" dia bullet has an O.D. of 0.410". It will have the same I.V. as the 45 LC bullets and a much better Ballistic Coefficient, but comes with a concentrically issue. If it will hold a pattern as well as the 45 LC bullets, you will get deeper penetration.
