Welcome! That's their "case hardened" finish. Don't see many of them. And that really is a nice holster.

But with what you said about ammo, I'm suddenly planning a road trip to PA!

beautiful looking RR. As you know, firearms require a lot of care. You have to now take on that responsibility of cleaning it, picking up after it and feeding it nutritious ammunition. If you can do that, it'll remain your faithful companion for years to come.

I was browsing at my local gun store and came across this gem.

Couldn't pass it up for the price of $159 out the door.

I do a lot of metal detecting and take lots of walks in the woods (live in part of the Appalachian Mtns.) and am always on the lookout for pesky snakes.

I always had a single barrel .410 with me but hated the hassle of it on one shoulder and the metal detector on the other.

This is perfect! I loaded up on .22mag CCI 52 grain shot shells at $7.99 for packs of 20 and regular CCI .22 mag round ball ammo for $10.99 for 50 per pack.

I have never seen another Heritage revolver in this finish and absolutely love it!
Pretty cool stuff man! Like the holster too!

I'm surprised you were able to find that, and at a good price, with the current run on all things "firearm". What taurustoter said, nice looking leather.

And welcome to the best gun forum on the net.

    Thanks

After working in two coats of Frye leather cream the leather is nice and soft, just like a well worn in ball glove......

Welcome from Northern Illinois! Nice rig that you've found.
“Historically, freedom is a rare and fragile thing . . . Freedom has cost the blood of millions in obscure places and in historic sites ranging from Gettysburg to the Gulag Archipelago . . .That something that cost so much in human lives should be surrendered piecemeal in exchange for visions and rhetoric seems grotesque. Freedom is not simply the right of intellectuals to circulate their merchandise. It is, above all, the right of ordinary people to find elbow room for themselves and a refuge from the rampaging presumptions of their ‘betters’.” Thomas Sowell
